The Budha leaf is derived from the leaves of the Bodhi tree, or Peepal tree under which the Budha is believed to have meditated and attained enlightenment.

This sacred tree is located in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, India. "Bodhi" means 'awakening' in Budhism, the final enlightenment, which puts an end to the cycle of transmigration. The Peepal tree or sacred fig tree is a species of figs native to the Indian subcontinent and Indochina that belongs to Moraceae, the fig or mulberry family.
 

Worshipping a Peepal tree brings good luck in the Hindu ideology; it is one of the most important trees in India, both in terms of its medicinal benefits and it's mythological importance.
